What is the House by the Sea

The House by the Sea is a persistent dream location I've been visiting about once a month for at least 2012.

While it bears many different shapes it, rather unsurprisingly, always maintains two consistent elements: it is a *house*, usually a sprawling structure with multiple wings, and it is by the *sea*, albeit a sea sometimes shaped as a flowing river, or a winding eddy, or a placid lake, etc.

I suppose it might be better dubbed the "chaotic arrangement of rooms by some kind of water feature," but then again, any sense to be gleaned from dreams is found in shearing away the dross. House by the Sea, simple.

I've given it's origin some thought, and have written some of them in the *inspirations* on this site.

What is this Site?

I'd like this little site to be a place to record my "travels" to the house, and to discuss other people's experiences with persistent dream locations, lucid dreaming, and the ambiguously paranormal. Perhaps I'll even meet other's who dream of the house, wouldn't that be spooky?

1. "This House Sounds Lovely!": I certainly think so!
2. "This House Sounds Sinister: I can't deny that there's a certain uncanniness to it, but isn't that the case for everything in dreams?
