Rats in the Bathtub

I briefly visited the house last night, though it was really only two rooms.

The first room was a small alcove with a number of white bathrobes, similar to what you would find in a spa.

The second was a room about 10 by 12 feet in dimension whose entire span was dominated by a porcelain bathtub.

I entered the bath, as one ought to do, and I became aware that beneath the water there were rats swimming about

Now I ought to come clean, as there's no point building suspense, I've had fancy rats as pets on and off throughout my life, and in the dream I knew the rats in the bathtub were my long departed pets, and thus wasn't bothered by them in the least.

Truthfully, I was much more concerned with the fact that they were swimming around underwater, but I reasoned in the dream (with what little reason can be found in dreams) that they were simply "underwater rats," and would be fine.

In hindsight I've noticed a pattern in these dreams where people and creatures that are dead are usually behind some barrier which I can dip into, but not pass myself. Another example with the rats involved one of them (Seraphina) under a sofa in the house. I could reach my hand under to pet her, but she could not leave the "undercoach."
